2010 "Through the Outdoors" Alzheimer's Research Initiative
Outdoorsmen for Alzheimer's Inc. is proud to announce the launch of its "Through the Outdoors" Alzheimer's Research Initiative. This special fundraising event has been established to give all outdoor enthusiasts the unique opportunity to combine their love for the great outdoors with their passion to further Alzheimer's research, education, and awareness. Combining the two for the purpose of raising much needed funds for Alzheimer's research has become an absolute privilige and joy!
Thanks to the success of this event's predecessor, the “An Inch Goes a Mile” Whitetail Fundraiser, Outdoorsmen for Alzheimer's has been able to generate a tremendous amount of awareness on this widespread disease while raising much needed funds. In fact, Outdoorsmen for Alzheimer's is proud to announce that it will be making a research grant this winter in the amount of $12,500 to a deserving research institution within the state of North Carolina. By launching the new and improved "Through the Outdoors" Alzheimer's Research Initiative, this organization plans to issue another significant grant in 2011. All funds raised during this event are used exclusively for Alzheimer's research within the state of NC .
The 2010 "Through the Outdoors" Alzheimer's Research Initiative will begin on October 15th and extend through December 31, 2010. With the help of a team full of philanthropic outdoor enthusiasts, we hope to eclipse the event goal of $20,000. Individuals can get involved by becoming a member of our fundraising team. As a team member you can participate by sharing your love for the outdoors with friends and family while working towards an individual fundraising goal of $250, $500, $1,000, or more. Please contact us by October 6th if you would like contribute to the overall success of this event by becoming a team member. The saying that there's strength in numbers could never be more true so don't hesitate to join us. Each team member's personalized web page will outline all event details and personalized fundraising goals. Also, contributions can be made through this personalized webpage so team members no longer have to worry about going around and collecting contributions the old fashioned way. As mentioned before, Outdoorsmen for Alzheimer's will build each members site and will have these up no later than October 13th. For this reason, it is highly important that individuals wishing to participate contact us no later than October 6th.
